Event Details

Join us for Traveling Bouquet’s Ladies Ski Weekend at Belleayre Mountain, a winter retreat dedicated to Women of Black and ethnic minorities looking to embrace snowboarding and skiing in a welcoming, inclusive environment. From February 6th – 9th, 2025, this exciting weekend will bring together beginners and seasoned riders for an unforgettable experience on the slopes.

Snow sports are often underrepresented by people of color, but this event is designed specifically to break that barrier. Whether you’ve never touched a snowboard or you’re looking to enhance your skills, our mission is to create a diverse and supportive community where everyone can learn, connect, and thrive. Through professional instruction, skill-building workshops, and social activities, we aim to change the narrative around winter sports by encouraging Black and ethnic minority women to take part in the adventure.

This weekend is not just about snowboarding—it’s about making space for inclusivity, representation, and building lasting connections.

Belleayre is a family-friendly mountain resort located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. The resort features 8 lifts (including a high-speed gondola and a detachable quad), 174 skiable acres, 50 trails, nearly 10 km of cross-country trails, and 4 lodges.

We will stay at a private retreat offering stunning mountain views, a heated indoor pool, a hot tub, a steam room, a yoga studio, and a fitness center. Complimentary snowshoes and poles for snowshoeing are also available, with a la carte spa services offered at an additional charge.

This trip is perfect for women of all levels of skiing and snowboarding experience while enjoying the beauty of New York’s Catskills!

4-DAY SKI WEEKEND  SAMPLE SCHEDULE*

DAY 1

6:30 – 7:30 pm – Train travel to the Catskills

7:45 – Shuttle service to lodge + welcome kit

8:30 – Casual bites + drinks and check-in

 

DAY 2

6:00 – 7:30 Continental breakfast

8:00 – 3:30 Ski and Snowboard time!

1:00 Optional: Leave the ski resort to explore the area

4:45 Dinner in town

 

DAY 3

6:00 – 8:00 Continental breakfast

8:30 – 3:30 Ski and Snowboard time!

Noon Optional: Leave the ski resort for a spa day

5:30 Catered 4-course dinner at retreat

8:30 – 11:00 Ski and Snowboard last hurrah!

11:15 – 12:00 Check out of retreat

Is it OK to come solo?

Not a problem! Most of our guests make new friends that stay in touch long after the trip is over.

All our rooms are either Queen or King beds with shared occupancy. If you would not like to share a room make sure to choose the room upgrade option for your private room. Availability of private rooms is very limited.

Can men come on this trip?

No. This event has been changed to ladies only. Sorry, fellas!

This package is open to men as well; everyone is welcome. While most of our travel packages are skewed more towards women than men, this ski retreat is inclusive of men while ensuring a safe space for women.

Can I come if I’m not of Black descent?

Yes! Traveling Bouquet is all about promoting diversity and inclusivity on the slopes, so everyone is welcome to travel with us. Our goal is to encourage and promote more ways for Black, and all ethnic minorities to ski, snowboard, and enjoy the mountains more as a community. We recognize there is a lack of diversity and lack of representation in the ski industry and want to help change that.

Can I come if I have never tried skiing/ snowboarding before?

Absolutely! We do recommend having at least 1-2 sessions at an indoor slope (BigSnow at American Dream) so you are familiar with the equipment and basics. However, if you do not have the chance to do this, multiple snowboard or ski lessons are included.

How to book your experience

All bookings are made through our website. To reserve your spot, you can choose to pay a nonrefundable 30% deposit or make the full payment upfront. For our early booking deal, the final payment is due on November 30th, 2024. You have the option to manually pay the remaining balance before the due date, or your card will be automatically charged on the due date. We'll send you email reminders so you can adjust your plans if needed.

Please note that prices will increase starting December 1st, so be sure to lock in this incredible deal while it lasts!

 

What should I pack?

Make sure you pack clothing that is warm and durable! A pre-trip comprehensive packing list will be provided to you when you book. Key items to bring for our retreat are your ski clothes, snow boots, balaclava, goggles, mitts, and beanies. Also, pack something nice for our dinner night out, swimwear, yoga/gym wear, warm pajamas, personal toiletries, and device chargers.

We provide bath and pool towels.

Decent sunglasses and sun protection are a must!

What's included?

  • PRIVATE GROUP TRANSFERS: Comfortable daily shuttle service in the Catskills
  • ACCOMMODATION: All rooms are ensuite bathrooms, with 2 people per room. You may request a private room at an additional rate (limited availability)
  • MEALS: Daily continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner (3 breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 2 dinners). Lunch will be on the last day of the trip. Plus complimentary coffee and tea daily
  • LIFT PASS: Access to 128 acres of slopes
  • EQUIPMENT HIRE: Ski and poles or Snowboard, boots, and helmets
  • LESSON: Daily Ski/Snowboarding lessons
  • SPA ACCESS: Heated indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, Finnish dry sauna, yoga studio, and fitness center.
