I recently decided to revisit the world of snowboarding in New York—let's pretend my previous failed attempts in Japan and South Korea never happened....

There are so many ski resort options to visit around my home in Northern New Jersey and Belleayre Mountain won the battle of 'which mountain is the best for snowboard beginners'. Many of the reviews online lauded it for its easy distance to the city, great training team and slopes, and the lack of crowd on weekdays

Having ventured into snowboarding and skiing across four different countries and about eight ski resorts, all as a solo black female traveler, I'm excited to share my insights. While I may not be a pro at both sports just yet, I can certainly provide a helpful guide to snowboarding and skiing for black women interested in drawing from my personal experiences.
